PyTorch is an open-source machine-learning framework, originally developed at Meta and now governed by the PyTorch Foundation under the Linux Foundation. It's the dominant framework for AI research and the substrate underneath most modern open-source LLMs and inference stacks.
Best for: Engineers and researchers building, training, or fine-tuning ML models. The default framework for anything that isn't pure inference against a hosted API.
